By A fast-growing recruitment platform that promises to be “the better way to find a job in tech” has been bought by a French rival, giving the co-founder of Indeed, the jobs website, a windfall from his investment.
Welcome to the Jungle has used a $54 million war chest raised in late 2022 to acquire Otta for an undisclosed sum, buying it from its founders Sam Franklin, Theo Margolius and Xav Kearney, all former employees of Nested, the online estate agency. They were all 25 years of age or younger when they set up the company.
LocalGlobe, the venture capital firm, led Otta’s $850,000 seed funding round and later-stage rounds of $20 million, with angel investors including Paul Forster, of Indeed, also participating.
