Martin Terrier nears Bayer Leverkusen move

Bayer Leverkusen are set to bolster their midfield with the signing of Stade Rennais’ Martin Terrier (27). It’s a move that could see Adam Hložek (21) move in the opposite direction, ending his two-year stay in Germany after not playing as much football as he had hoped since his move from Sparta Prague.

Kicker confirm corresponding reports from France that Terrier is nearing a move to Bayer Leverkusen. It would be the second time the Bundesliga champions have turned to Rennes this summer following the arrival of Jeanuël Belocian. It would be the first time that Terrier has played outside of France, although he had aroused interest from English clubs such as Newcastle United, West Ham United and Leeds United, as reported via our colleagues at Get French Football News.

Since his move from Lyon in 2020, Terrier has scored 51 and created 24 in 141 games across all competitions from Rennes. Last season, the Frenchman scored seven and created three in 24 Ligue 1 games.
