According to a report from L’Équipe, Jamie Vardy (37) is set to sign a contract extension at Leicester City, after helping the club return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Vardy remained with the Foxes following their relegation to the EFL Championship. The former England international has continued to be influential for Leicester City in the second division, scoring 18 goals as the club finished top of the Championship.
However, with his contract expiring, there were doubts about his future at the club. Those doubts could soon be put to rest. L’Équipe understand that Vardy will sign a one-year contract extension, which will see the Englishman remain with Leicester as they return to the Premier League.
A member of the striker’s entourage has told the French publication that negotiations over a renewal are ongoing, adding that it is highly probable that there will be a positive outcome.
