Orchestrated under the expert eye of Anna Wintour, this event is so much more than a mere series of fashion shows. It is a vibrant and daring manifesto that affirms fashion as a high-voltage sport, a competition in which daring and performance are combined to epic effect. “Paris will be a kind of opening ceremony; one that celebrates 100 years of fashion and sport, as well as this extraordinary city,” Wintour says, promising an homage to the Olympic Games – allowing Paris to shine in all of its glory.
