Washington Wizards second-year guard Bilal Coulibaly has been selected to the selection pool for France men’s national basketball team for this summer’s Olympics in Paris, France.
This roster is at 19 players for training camp before the games begin in July. However, Coulibaly has a strong chance of sticking around and playing amongst the best French players this summer.
A trip to the Olympics would mean Coulibaly misses the Wizards Summer League action from July 7 to July 17, but that’s fine considering the increased level of competition he’d be playing and practicing against on a national stage.
The former top-10 pick fractured his wrist in March and missed the remainder of the season. At the draft lottery, however, Coulibaly had shed his cast and is expected to be ready for training camp with Team France.
