Marko Arnautovic, Marcus Thuram, and Benjamin Pavard are working individually to catch up in fitness in Inter Milan preseason training.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter’s squad is now nearly complete in preseason training.
The only player now missing is Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez. And the Argentine is only a day or two away from returning, as he is set to cut his vacation short in light of an injury to Mehdi Taremi.
But not every player in Inter’s squad is as far along in their preparations as the others.
The Nerazzurri squad had returned to training piecemeal over the last few weeks.
Whilst training has been ongoing for more than three weeks, players have filtered back into the training camp gradually based on their participation in the Euros and the Copa America.
The most recent returnees were French international Thuram and Pavard.
Meanwhile, Austrian Arnautovic came back last week. However, his fitness has not been ideal.
Arnautovic, Thuram & Pavard Work Individually To Build Fitness In Inter Preseason Training
For some of the players in Inter’s squad – and particularly those who have already been working in training for several weeks – they are already rounding into form physically speaking.
Therefore, the priority for some players has been getting into their rhythm. Tactical coherency and match fitness are the aims.
But for a few Inter players, the priority is simply to arrive at the start of the season in top physical condition.
The Corriere report that Arnautovic, Thuram, and Pavard are three players still a long way from that.
Therefore, that trio have been training individually. They’ve been working on their own fitness programs to get their condition to the required levels.
With less than two weeks to go before Inter begin their Serie A season with a match against Genoa, they have to think about accelerating the returns to fitness.
