Whilst Paris Saint-Germain still have a Coupe de France final to contend with before the end of the season, there was a sense of dénouement as they crashed out of the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night and within this context, eyes are already cast towards PSG’s summer transfer dealings.
According to Le Parisien, the areas of improvement for next season have already been identified and some profiles are already being studied. As has been the case in recent windows, PSG are expected to launch another attempt to sign Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva (29). It is the third summer in a row that Luís Campos will try and lure the Portuguese playmaker away from the Etihad.
PSG looking to sign a defender and a winger
With Kylian Mbappé (25) expected to depart on a free transfer, Les Parisiens are planning to bring in a striker. It is no secret that the Ligue 1 champions are interested in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen (25) but Le Parisien also reveal that they are interested in Sporting forward Viktor Gyökeres (25), who bar Mbappé and Harry Kane, has the most goals of players competing in Europe’s major leagues this season with 41 goals in 47 games.
PSG will also be in the market for a centre-back with neither Milan Skriniar nor Danilo Pereira convincing Luis Enrique, whilst there are understandably concerns regarding Lucas Hernandez’s recurrent injuries. A new winger may also be on the menu at the Parc des Princes, which could be Xavi Simons, who may return from his loan spell at RB Leipzig this summer.
