Will PSG pay tribute to record goalscorer Kylian Mbappé (25) for the latter’s final home game at the Parc des Princes this Sunday? L’Equipe understand that any plan for this is yet to be drawn out. After playing his final Champions League game with Les Parisiens on Tuesday, with Borussia Dortmund claiming a 1-0 win as well as a spot for the final in Wembley on June 1st, the France international will likely play his final game at the Parc des Princes as a PSG player for Ligue 1’s gameweek 33. Ligue 1 champions PSG will host Toulouse on Sunday before lifting Hexagoal, the Ligue 1 trophy.
PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi reportedly requested a ‘massive tribute‘ for Kylian Mbappé’s exit back in February, when it was reported that the club’s record goalscorer would leave for pastures new. However, since then, the France skipper has not made it official that he would be leaving the French capital, forcing PSG into a dilemma. How can PSG honor the achievements of a player they dream of renewing and who is yet to announce his departure? L’Equipe understand that the club’s executives are expected to convene in the next hours to come up with a plan for Mbappé’s final game at the Parc des Princes.
Should Mbappé’s exit materialize, he has only four games left with Les Parisiens: this Sunday’s reception of Toulouse, two away league games at Nice, on Wednesday, and Metz, the following Sunday before the Coupe de France final against Lyon on Saturday, May 25th.
