Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism is promoting the country to Parisians in hopes of increasing French travel. On Monday, Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Marqués promoted Mexico before more than 100 tour operators from France.
During his French tour, Torruco Marqués was accompanied by the Ambassador of Mexico in France, Blanca Jiménez Cisneros. Torruco Marqués and Jiménez Cisneros lead the delegation in Paris with the operation Knock on Doors program.
According to Torruco Marqués, France went from eighth place to seventh position in the ranking of countries that visit Mexico. Last year, Mexico registered the arrival of 314,691 French air tourists which represents an increase of 3 percent compared to 2019.
Before more than 100 tour operators from France, Torruco Marqués presented the seminar This is Mexico, showing the diverse tourist offers of the country which include beaches, 177 Magic Towns, archaeological sites, protected natural areas and historical cities, among others.
Torruco Marqués reported French tour operators showed great interest in the new tourism products, especially those related to air, land and rail connectivity.
Torruco Marqués also held a meeting with Véronique Potelet Anty, the Director of Transversal Projects and Institutional Relations of the Paris Tourist Office with the purpose of strengthening bilateral cooperation ties in tourism matters between Mexico and France.
