PSG blew Lyon away in a blistering first half as they extended their lead atop Ligue 1 to a massive 11 points, all but confirming their title once more.
Scorers: Matic OG 3′. Beraldo 6′, Ramos 33′, 42′; Nuamah 37′
The hosts were gifted the lead after just three minutes when Nemanja Matic put the ball into his own net, but they took advantage of the slow start to add a second goal courtesy of Lucas Beraldo, who turned home from a corner.
Then Gonçalo Ramos stole the show. The Portuguese striker scored PSG’s third and fourth goal either side of a consolation effort from Lyon’s young star Ernest Nuamah. It meant that the Champions League semi-finalists headed into the break 4-1 up and cruising despite the likes of Kylian Mbappé and Ousmané Dembele watching on from the substitutes bench.
The game settled to a much more even pattern in the second half, with both sides enjoying good chances and the home side dominating the ball. However, they couldn’t add to their advantage, and come full-time PSG’s comfortable evening without Mbappé was confirmed.
The result means that PSG sit 11 points clear at the top of the French top flight, with just 15 points left to play for. Their title win could be confirmed as early as Wednesday should Monaco drop points against Lille and Luis Enrique’s side beat Lorient at the same time.
